Not trying to pry but what is so bad with Preview on this OS ... I find it to be very good and delving more into the depths of it you can do alot more than JUST looking at pictures .....

I was on the search too and found JustLooking from ChipmunkNinja to be pretty effective for just flipping through pics. Oh, and it's free too.

Just had a look back thru your posts - are you sure you are in the right place?
Vista could well provide all that you need. You could run Bootcamp and Vista and could then avoid the poor Mac OS

Have you tried QuickLook? You may not even be aware of it. Highlight a picture file and hit the space bar. Then you can arrow through the directory. You can also import it into iPhoto and use that for photo browsing. Also, take a look at CocoViewX.

i never really used a mac before and all this is new to me. there are things i find on the mac os to be a lot less convenient compare to windows vice versa.
just ugraded to 4gb of ram, will buy win 7 pro very soon, but it does not mean i am never going to use os x anymore.

thanks for the suggestions......

I was a big AcdSee person too. Glad to hear they're working on a Mac version.

CocoViewX is close, IMO... and you can't beat the price (free!).

Just for viewing pictures, I think Picasa has come a long way. It is free as well.

Not sure if you can download preview. They should be on the disk that came with the computer.

Probably only from an internet search. Be sure you don't buy a model-specific gray colored disc. You want the retail version. I guess the Tiger one, like Leopard would be black with a big 'X' on it.
