playlists

Can anybody tell me exactly when the ipod touch 2g running os 3.1.2 updates smart playlists? I have quite a few of them and i have noticed it updates sometimes but not others. Being able to induce these updates would be fantastic.

Also, why isnt there an app that will let us edit playlists, and i dont mean the on-the-go ridiculousness that apple seems to think we like. I mean a "delete this song from this playlist" or a "include this song in this playlist" button or something. Is it that hard to do?

I've noticed that with my smart playlists, I have to open up the edit menu for each individual one because the "Live Updating" was screwing up every playlist that I was transferring. So open up the edit menu, and close it. That seems to be the new way to refresh our not so smart playlists.
