Charger stuck in Iphone3g

About 30 minutes ago i plugged in my Iphone3g to charge and low and behold i go to take the usb charger [not standard apple charger, generic] and one side of the chager seems to be stuck in my iphone. Ive tried jiggling it loose and everything but the one side just wont come out!
i really dont know what to do from here..or how to proceed and take it out by myself without damaging my phone. any advice? thanks

I am betting it has little buttons on each side that when pushed release the little clip that is now attached to your phone. Just push it back in then depress the little tabs on the side of the charger as you pull it straight out.

It does have the buttons on the side, ive tried that and a million other ways.
i think its stuck on something. mehh. this iphone is cursed!
