To answer your question we would have to know what video inputs are on your TV. My setup runs with the mini DVI on the Mac to an HDMI on the TV but there are other combinations possible.

thanks i am looking for all the help i can get.

i have 2 hdmi inputs in the back of my tv, one of them being used. besides that there are a couple of the standard blue, red, green inputs, and a thing that looks like vga but only 9 pins, not 15 like the standard vga.

i bought an adapter for the vga input for the tv but it didnt work. so do i need something to go into the hdmi input?
