I leave my charger plugged to the AC all the time. This makes it simple to charge the battery for I just plop in the magnetic plug and I'm charging away. Am I doing damage to the charger by leaving it plugged in to the wall all the time?
I forget where the info came from, but not too long ago someone posted a quote from Apple that said the intent was for notebooks to be plugged in for use at the office and to be used unplugged for shorter amounts of time such as on public transportation, etc. Basically, they're designed to be used unplugged too. But if you choose to leave it plugged in all the time that's fine. You're not going to do any serious damage.
However, I would strongly recommend once a month following this guide to calibrating your battery.
