won't run plug-ins

I just switched to macbook this june so bear with me. I just bought a Macbook Pro 17 for half a year and its driving me nuts. Firstly, safari won't run shockwave player. I ran safari in 32 bit mode and with rosetta but it just won't run it, and i had also uninstall shockwave player and reinstall it several times but it just won't work. It worked fine last time but now it won't work at all. Another thing is the divX web player, it won't work at all even though i ran safari in 32 bit mode and with rosetta but it just won't work! It also worked fine last time. Any help would be well appreciated! Thanks!

Oh yeah, by the way, i use snow leopard.
