Dock

Hi everyone.

I own an 80 GB 6th generation iPod classic.

I have a universal apple dock and the overpriced RCA cables that go with it. The yellow out is going to my TV, the red and whites to my stereo. While I'm getting sound, I'm getting no display (TV is set to the correct input). Conventional wisdom would leave me to believe that the yellow out should echo the display.

Furthermore the menu button on the remote that came with the dock doesn't seem to do anything. The remote really only lets me skip forward or back.

Ideally I'd like to have complete control over the ipod via a remote and have some sort of interface displayed on my TV.

Is my dock bad or will it not do this? If it won't do this, does anyone know a product that will work?

Any help would really be appreciated, this is driving me crazy.

The only video that your iPod will output is pics and vid. It will not output what is on the iPod display or album art.
This is normal and the way it works

and as far as the menu button ...it is designed to work with your Mac and front row.
