Hey you guys,

I'm new to macs, and got one since my college major is in computers and figured I had better get on the train with Macs. At least learn to use one.

I'm thinking about buying a 17" imac with dual core 2gHz and 2Gb of ram.

Now onto my problem,

The mac is used, and on the right side of the screen the pixels are bad (about an inch from top to bottom). I was wondering about replacing the screen and how hard it is to do, and also maybe cost.

It doesn't bother me that much, but I do wanna get it fixed eventually.

Thanks guys

Unless you're getting it basically free, personally, I wouldn't bother with it.

I kinda figured if worse came to worse, I would just use an external monitor as the main display and the actual screen as the alt display. Looking at ifixit.com as we speak. Thanks alot for the tip
