Using my iPhone 3GS charger with iPod

Can I use my 3GS charger with my iPod touch 2 gen ?

I have 3 iPods & 2 iPhones and use the same cable and A/C adaptor on all of 'em with no probs. The cable is the old one with the release buttons on the side that came with my 30GB iPod.

heres a question- why not just try charging it, rather than asking? whats the worse that could happen?

To cause any problems to my iPod by doing that . Anyway it seems that there is no problem to do that according to your replies so I'll try it .

By the way . I called Apple to get second opinion and they said I can not do that . I guess they said that because they want me to buy another charger .

I use the same charger ... haven't had any issues ever. It seems to be perfectly fine

Or the iphone will say that the charger is not made to charge this device and not let it charge. Don't worry, it wont blow up or catch on fire.

I bought an extra 5 of these and 2 of these.

Have a cable with my MBP, my wife's MB, one on both night stands (like to listen to a book when I go to bed), on the HTPC, in the car (yes I have USB in the car) and one on the office computer.

They've worked on everything I've tried.
