getting colorsync off the dock

The colorsync utility has shown up on my dock and I can't get rid of it...how do I get rid of it on the dock? I've tried clicking on it and moving into the desktop (which has worked with other icons on the dock which I wanted to get rid of) but it just jumps back onto the dock.

Make sure it's closed first. You can't remove an item while the application is running. Ctrl-click and shut it down. Then drag it off the dock and release.
