Problem with my iphone with my orange sim

I bought the phone and the guy unlocked it for me (orange sim) no problem. When I tried to synch it with my MacBook it tells me that the SIM is not compatible with my iPhone....any suggestions on what I can do to reunlock it? (Not sure if reunlock is a word)
