Hi everyone,

I hope this is posted in the right place. I just have a question about ripping MP3s into my Macbook Pro using iTunes 9.

I selected the option in iTunes to export files as MP3s, and they went into my iTunes music folder... but for some reason, the file was called [track name].mp3, but the icon for the mp3 was an applications folder. In this folder were shortcuts to all my applications.

Does anyone know how I can rip from a CD and result in a normal mp3 file on my computer which can be used with other programs, not just in the iTunes library? In the meantime I'm doing it on my old PC with Media Player and copying the mp3s onto my Mac, which is long-winded (and using windows is so frustrating since being a Mac!)

Many thanks in advance for any help,

Nick
