Hey folks this is my first post in your wonderful forum here. I hope someone can help me.

I was attempting to transfer my photos from iphoto on my mac book to my G5 mac. After it was indicated that the transfer was complete i ejected the G5 and rebooted it.

It opened to a crash page. It looks like this:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x00373A34): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \PowerMac8,2\".\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1228.15.4/iokit/Kernel

Your Mac's Specs
27 iMac+Thunderbolt, iMac 21,
While it is tricky to know your scene accurately this is what i would do - download and run the Combo Updater for the OS on the G5.
Then connect G5 and MacBook with firewire 400 cable start MacBook in Target mode by holding T key after powering on, then in the the Applications/Utilitites folder on G5 run Migration Assistant and select which Users on the MacBook you want imported onto the G5. That should work better and drag your photos across, as well as music etc.
