Hi,
I eventually installed Microsoft Office 2008 ( I am am running Snow Leopard ) and the first file that I create and need ( My work log for the last month ) will not open - it has the following message...

"this file might have been damaged or modified from its original format"

I cannot find any way to resolve this - any ideas.

Happy Holidays.

Which version of Office was the *.xlsx created with?

Harry: I don't think you can install Office 2008 without Rosetta already being installed. I might be mistaken about this though.

Regards.

I did some searching and found several references to "needing" rosetta before Office 2008 will install.

See the following LINK

Note that Rosetta is not needed to "run" Office 2008, just to install. The next version of Office for the Mac (2010) will not need it.

Regards.
