Hiya all

I thought I should look at the console to see whats running and all I see is that it is constantly trying to do something to IBDaemon.app which isnt on my Mac. I have never downloaded IBackupforMac and there isnt a directory where the "console" is trying to look :\

Here is a copy of the log file to see if you can understand what is going on :\

2shared - download ibdaemon.app.log (Download link at bottom of page)

Thanks alot guys

Mac :)

How about posting a screenshot so that we're not having to download something?

So, am assuming you have looked in your applications folder for ibackup (look in both root and user Applications directory) and the app itself is not there?

You have also done a spotlight search for ibdaemon and found nothing?

In that case you'll need to enable view hidden files and re-search. There'll be a kext hidden away somewhere - deleting it should take care of it.

I have looked in the applications folder (both root and user) and i have done the spotlight search which returned nothing

How do you enable view hidden files? I am not a very experienced OSX user and don't know what to do thanks.

Should i then use spotlight to do the search yes?

Thanks

I use Onyx for it. Not much of a command line guy myself.

Here is how to do it in Terminal - link

Yes, and then do a spotlight search for it again.

Once you're done, to re-hide the hidden files - type in the same line, but change "true" to "false"

Ive enabled all hidden files, done a search and still nothing comes up. This is starting to annoy me. There must be something somewhere but it cant be found

Is there anything else you suggest?

Thanks

I take it this is a 2nd hand MB if you've never installed it.

There are at least two applications called ibackup.

Am thinking you must have this one.

Here are the instructions for removal.

Since you don't have it installed, would try downloading (from the 1st link) and installing the app, then use it's uninstaller to remove it.
