I used to own a macbook & have connected it to the airport express base station.

Now I own a new macbook pro because the old one was lost 3 years ago.

I am trying to link that old airport express to my new macbook but it didn't work. I have been using the aiport utility and it DID find the airport i am using. Though it is asking for a password for the airport.

I have no idea what the password was when i set up the airport.

I do not want to buy a new airport express at the moment, is there anything I can do so my wireless can work at home?

by the way i am connecting my modem to the airport express.

Thanks ;)

As I recall the Airport Express has a small reset hole where you can insert a paperclip wire and reset the unit to factory defaults. That should clear the old password. You will have to go through the initial setup routine again like you did when it was new.
