I guess if you feel so strongly about Apple not wanting to support flash, you should not support Apply by purchasing another iPhone. It makes the most sense or you run the risk of contradicting yourself and making everything you say here utterly redundant and meaningless.
I'm not meaning to sound sarcastic, either. I mean it. People have the right to not support a company by taking their money elsewhere. I'll likely not be purchasing another iPhone, but not simply because of the lack of flash support. I also don't agree with Apple's practice of not letting companies whom develop media players (ie; not iTunes) gain access to the vital information they need in order to support iPhones or iPods. Locking people into iTunes is an incredibly sleezy thing for Apple to do. And I will not support this. Apple likes to pretend to hide this under the guise of "we're doing it for the customer", "We do it because it integrates with the OSX system all the better" "we do it because it's the most stable option" etc etc.. When the fact of the matter is that they do it to lock their customers in to a proprietary system with no chance to explore other alternatives. VERY 1984, Orwellian stuff. Which is ironic seeing as how their mantra used to be "think different".
There are plenty of other capable phones out there. As much as I HATED the windows mobile OS, I absolutely LOVED my HTC Tilt. It really stomped on the iPhone in many aspects. Of course, the iPhone stomps on the Tilt in other aspects, so it's a matter of compromise and priorities.
Stick to your guns if you are really that adamant about the iPhone not pleasing you as much as it should. It's only a phone, after all. Not a big loss.

Edit: BTW, I absolutely adore my two MacBook Pro's, my Airport Extreme and Apple bluetooth keyboard. I don't hate my iPhone by any means.. it's probably one of the best toy phones I've ever owned. But it can most certainly be improved, as you've pointed out.
