I recently got an iPod, so I updated iTunes to 9.0.2. Now I can't get iTunes to open at all and I've been trying for two hours. I know nothing about computers, so any help is appreciated.

Is all other software updated??
Have you tried to log out and back in again??
Tried Repair disk permissions ??

These are the 1st things you should try then if no luck post back.

Repairing disk permissions

YourHD>Applications>Utilities>Disk Utilities ...
Then click on your HD in the left column then Repair Disk Permissions ....
Try this and post back

Cheers

I tried the fix from above and it didn't work. I've reinstalled itunes and it is still having the same problems. I'm on the verge of reformatting because of this.

Run Disk Utility from your install disc and do the permission and HD repairs, and then see if that solves it.
If not, try FSCK, PRAM reset and NVRAM reset, before you get to doing a clean install.

I'm having the same problem. I've completely uninstalled the previous version of iTunes (using Apple's instructions from their support site) and installed iTunes 9.0.2. When I click on the icon it flashed briefly as if loading, but that's it! Tried repairing disk permissions....no go. I don't know what resetting FSCK, PRAM or NVRAM means....plse can someone explain? thx a million.

Me again. Since learned about resetting FSCK (to the extent that I can) and I've reset the PRAM/NVRAM. Still not able to run iTunes.
