Hello Mac users out there,

I have a problem that I cant seem to fix and it's driving me crazy.

A year ago I made a movie with Imovie and burnt it onto Idvd. Not long after I lost my hard-drive and had to replace it, thus losing all of my memory.

I now have a newer up-dated version on my mac and I need to put that dvd back into Imovie. I have been able to use disk utility to make a .dmg and can burn more copies of the movie, but I am unsuccessful at importing the movie back into imovie.

I have read that the .dmg should be recognized as a camera and will be imported but the problem is that when I open imovie I can see the movie clips (and watch them with no audio) but it will not import it. It says there is a problem with the clip. Also I want the audio and it's not working.

It's driving me nuts and I really need this back into Imovie. If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried ripping the dvd onto your computer as a .mov file? once doing that you can just go into imovie and select file>Import movie
