Hi there. I have built a site in Dreamweaver and have uploaded it to my iDisk: web/sites/. When I look at the url: Trio Con Brio. Wedding Music.
it does not seem to be finding the CSS and is not formatting anything. The index page points to the CSS fine and it works locally on my computer.

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Trio Con Brio. Wedding Music.</title>
<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
</head>

I downloaded that page and one of the linked files was style.dms.

Make sure there is a plain text file with the extension css in the same directoty as index.html and the page works fine

It maybe just a wrong file extension on a file

Hi there. Thanks for your reply - it is much appreciated as I am a bit new to CSS (as I expect you guessed!)

The CSS file is definitely a .css extension. I even downloaded it back to my mac and looked for the 'dms' file and could not find it. The index.html accesses the .css file fine on my computer, but not when in my .mac webspace.

I have deleted the files on .mac and have re-uploaded, but the problem persists. I have also added the other pages and they all cant find the CSS either.

Sorry to be such an idiot, but if you can help again I would be so grateful,

Thanks

Sam

...and now Safari says "'index.html' contains an application bla bla bla". It did not do that before I re-uploaded the files. Spooky....

It is a puzzle. Everything looks right to me and in its place. As you describe it looks like the css is being ignored. I downloaded the assets and set it up the same as your code indicates and it looked proper on my local machine.
