I currently own a 27in iMac dual core and enjoying it. I decided to buy my sister a MBP 13in. to replace her old Acer Ferrari edition laptop, which was I think a 2003 model year, as a Christmas gift.
I had a $100 worth of Amazon gift cards and Amazon has a special no financing for 24 months on certain Apple products. In the end I spent a total of $1053.99, no sales tax, and free 2nd day shipping. I only got the MB990LL/A with the 2.26GHz CPU. I'll probably upgrade the RAM later.
Hopefully she'll be using her new MBP rather than going into my room and using my iMac.
