Screen Brightness Problem

I updated to Tiger yesterday and I no longer have the option to dim the screen on my PowerBook G4. It is not in the Display options and the Dimmer buttons on the keyboard do not work either. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you try restarting the computer? This might have no effect whatsoever, but it's worth a try to get the keys working again. Prefs. -> Displays -> then toggle the brightness down near the bottom. Exit out of the prefs, and see if the keys work again. If not try restarting again. If it's still a no go, maybe reset the pram.

Unfortunately that did not work. Let me show you my Display Options window to show you exactly what I mean. See how I have no option to change the brightness?

Is it normal for there only to be one display res too? My Powerbook has like 15 options.

this is interesting. I think something must be up, you are missing some settings. Here are some apple help articles for OS X 10.4 "Tiger" about screen brightness:
