Hi all,

I have recently had to re-install the OS on my Mac book. Stupidly i forgot to back up i photo.
Is there anyway i can get 9 years worth of photos back or am i screwed?

I take it that when you install a new OS it wipes the HD!

Cheers

If you did a clean install then just move on in life, and get a backup system in place.

If you installed over the old system, then perhaps you have the old user account still in tact. Look in the Users folder. Also, look for a folder in the top level of the drive that hints at it being an archive of the old system. Sorry I can't recall the exact name of it.

If you're really disparate to get back those pics, then look into a recovery service. They are really meant to recover data from crashed drives, but maybe they can do something for you, for at minimum, a grand.
