can you convert multiple files at once?

if so, will it just slow down the process of each file conversion?

Yes you can, but it will indeed be slow. Better to do one at a time, it's relatively quick anyway.

Encoding/compressing video is a highly CPU intensive activity. You're much better to do just one at a time.
