I have a new iMac 3.06 intel core 2 duo with 4 gigs of memory. Can I use a 2 gig flash drive for extra memory?

No, you can't.

What you you doing that 4 GB of RAM isn't enough?
Check here to see how much of your RAM is being used:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1342

If you have less than a combined 32MB being used by "Free" (green) and "Inactive" (blue) then there might be some issues where you would need to quit some running applications that aren't vital to what you are doing.

Otherwise, if the combined total of Free and Inactive is greater than 32MB, there really isn't a need for more RAM as adding more won't make any great difference to your performance.
