Does any one know what kind of problems I will encounter if I move my hard drive that was in a Imac g4 800 MHz Lamp to power mac g4 tower. The reason is the lamps power supply is bad and I can get a tower for free. Any thoughts?

You'll have to just give it a try.

It may or may not boot up in that tower but my instincts say it should.

If you do get it to boot, then run the a combo OS X updater just to refresh the system, has the disk got Leopard or Tiger on it?

10.4 on it. the other problem i have read is the size of the hd. I had put a new 320 gig in the lamp machine and it was working fine. Dont know if this other machine will read that big of hd.

What is the speed of the processor in that G4?

Unless I misread MacTracker that G4 doesn't have large drive support (drives larger than 128 GB). I don't remember whether partitioning a drive into several segments of less than 128 GB solved this problem. Will post back when I find out.
