This has to be a simple one.
I just want to record through a micraphone and burn it to a CD
Is there a system application or is it a bit of freeware on the net someware.

if you want to use microphone it has to be USB. otherwise you'll need grifins iMic mini jack-USB adapter, whitch come with simple but nice software for recording. I think you can buy those on eBay for 30$. if you already have USB mic, use garageband.

If your computer has a line-in port, you can use that to use a microphone. You'll probably need an XLR (The Mic) to 1/8" Cable if your planning on using a true mic. Also, many mac's actually have a built in mic. The quality isn't terrific, but it gets the job done. The eaisest way I could think of would be to use GarageBand, or even iMovie for that matter, to record from the mic and then output it to CD. Let us know how it goes.
