I am battling with trying to get the audio to work on my samsung. no one at apple, best buy, dynex, etc. can help me.

My video works fine. My audio is set properly on MAC but I get no sound through my tv with red/white cables.

Please help if you can. thanks!

What cable are you using for your video image?

What type of cables are you using? Is it the 3.5mm to 2x RCA cables as per the attached image? If so, you should be able to plug the 3.5mm jack into your headphone socket of your Mac and then the 2x RCA plugs (red & white) into the red & white analogue inputs of your TV.

Am pretty sure I know, but I need the model # of your Samsung to make sure I'm not sending you on a wild goose chase.

I will also need to know what port you are using on the Samsung to connect the Mac for video - HDMI 1, VGA, etc.

Would prefer to know which Mac you have also.

I am using mini to RCA, plugged into headset jack on MAC and DVI audio IN (red and white cables)

Video and all is perfect. Cable is good. Volume is high on all units. sound comes out of MAC, but no sound when I plug in.

pearly, it SHOULD work fine but doesn't. That's why I'm frustrated. My MAC is 2006 MACBOOK. Do I need to update anything? Samsung seemed to think it may be false output, and my TV doesn't understand.

OK, the video is working.

I still need to know which video port on the TV you are using with the Mac. HDMI 1, HDMI 2, or PC?

While using the 'PC' port for video, you must also use the 'Audio' next to 'PC IN'.

It is really hard to tell from the picture in the manual, but am guessing that port is the same as the audio port on your Mac? If so, you need a stereo mini-plug similar to this one.

The RCA (red and white) you are currently using of the "DVI IN (HDMI2)" port will only work with a device that is plugged into the HDMI # 2 port.

edit: Typical Samsung support, they know NOTHING. No, that's wrong. They know LESS THAN NOTHING. They're as useless as ... (you'll have to fill in your own). Remember, this is a Disney rated forum now.

I gave you the link in my post above for that cable - Radio Shack, Best Buy, Walmart and anyone else that carries cables should have one of these.

Does the end you're currently plugging into your Mac also fit into that port on the TV? Yes?
Don't tell them it's for a Mac. You just need a stereo (3.5mm) mini-plug.
