The drive you chose is a good one. As far as heating is concerned with 7200 RPM drives, I haven't noticed any heating with mine nor is it any noisier than the original stock Hitachi 5400 RPM model. I say go for it.

A 7200RPM drive is definitely a worthwhile upgrade. You'll notice the difference almost immediately.

I concur. I have the 500gb version.

As for the heat issue, I am not sure because I do get a little heat however I blame that mainly because I have a full body SPEK case and it is always on my lap when I am laying down on the couch. So it is not properly breathing. But yea it is deff a good upgrade.
