Hi,

I have recently and finally switched from PC to Mac. I have very computer literate, due to the fact that I am an IT person. So it is very frustrating that I can't hook up my printer.
The mac can see the printer on the network, and can access its drivers. When I hit add, it gives me this box with alot of different options to choose for my printer. Nomatter what I do I always get a "PRINTER SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE" error message, can somebody please help me, and tell me what I am doing wrong. Thank you for you help

I don't know your problem for sure, but I've had a lot of folks trying to add printers to Snow Leopard machines without getting the updated drivers for them. Won't work. Your new Mac undoubtedly has OS 10.6, so go to the printer manufacturer's website and download the latest Mac drivers making sure that they specify Snow Leopard (OS 10.6).
