Hi All,
I am after some advise on partitioning my hard drive, if i split the drive in the utilities section into two
1. Existing mac space
2. Install ubuntu onto new partition

If i make HD2 do i have to erase all data before i install ubuntu onto it or can i install without erasing.

How should i install the cd i have onto the new partition, would there be any drive issues in installing a different system !. Is it possible to do it this way

I am not worried about losing data on the new partition as it is backed up

PS i am a bit of a novice so easy english please

THanks

You can install Ubuntu to a second partition you made without worrying about overwriting your OS X data. But be very careful when installing Ubuntu.

Before installing it might be a good idea to go to the Ubuntu user forums and select the section which deals with installing Ubuntu on a Mac.

Here's the LINK.

Regards.
