I have to wonder whats the advantage of doing an archieve + install vs an erase and install --------- obviously you must be able to recover your old image. But you still need to re-install all your 3rd party apps etc.
So I'm just thinking that an erase and install would lead to a better outcome - of course at that point I'm committed - but as I said earleir I don't really have much on this mac yet and I can back up my data on USB2 drive
