can I update this to snow lepoard?

macbook pro 15" 2.16 ghz (late 2006)
I just got my macbook pro and these are the specs,

it came with 10.5 leopard and updated to 10.5.8 my question is can I update this to snow lepoard? and if so will I loose the programs I have already installed on it.

Yes...any Mac with an Intel CPU can be upgraded to Snow Leopard.

Yes - you can upgrade - painlessly. Either Leopard or Snow Leopard will work fine.
No - you will not lose the programs.

1GB RAM - think about going to 2GB, maybe 4GB if you have the cash.

120GB / 5400 RPM HD - That's useable, but I'd be thinking about a 500GB / 7200RPM replacement.
