My MacBook does nothing when i push the power on button. I think the cover was inadvertently closed before shutdown completed last time it was used. With my MacBook Pro, I simply remove the battery for a minute, then put it back in to resolve this problem. The MacBook battery is not user-removable. Any suggestions?

Press and hold the power button for an extended period (5+ seconds). This will "hard power off" the Mac if it got stuck in the shutdown sequence. Then press and release the power button. You Mac should power up normally.

Sometimes you need to repeat this procedure once or twice to get it to power up.

Give that a shot...
