No, not really. Audio CD's are limited in the amount of time that can be put on them. A 6 hour book would basically take 6 CD's.

If you are into them or are getting into audio books, an iPod is your friend with a Mac. Probably any device like this with Windows. I go through 2-3 books a month on audio. Just an 8GB Nano would work - don't get the shuffle for listening to books.

I listen to books on my ipod while driving everyday. Just use standard earbuds rather than any noise canceling set so you can still hear everything outside.

Or get a FM transmitter. Did that for a long time also.
