Hi,

I have a 17" 2.33GHz core 2 duo macbook pro Late 2006 and i really like the look of the 17" macbook pro 2008/2009 screen.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me if i can/cannot swap. EG:if the cable from the screen will fit in my logic board or if i need different drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be to go to apple.com and look at the specs on both models. If they have the same screen size/stats then u should be able 2. I know on the white macbooks the 2008 screens fit on the 2006 models. Just check the specs first.

In short, they are completely different displays. Not only do they use a different back light, but also a different type of inverter and flex cable, not to mention the aesthetic differences.

In short, you're trying to put a square peg in a round hole. Won't work.

ok thanks =] just thought that it would look awesome with silver keys and a black bezel, and the 2008/2009 has a magnetic latch whereas the 2006 has a hook latch.

Maybe it wont work
