Question about IWeb.

I have found IWeb really useful to use and have made my own website: www.callstheraces.com

But I want to make a website for my employer in Colorado, I am in WV.

I can make the website easy enough on on Iweb but is there a way I can save it to a CD/DVD and he can then view what the website would look like on a Windows computer?

Sure. It saves as HTML just like any other website pages. I'd suggest developing the website, saving it to your Desktop. When you're finished, just burn the Desktop folder to disk and send it to him. He should be able to see it by going to File/Open in his browser and navigating to it.

Or you could get whats called a screen grab (Something like that). What you would do is preview the the site when your done in your web browser & then simply take a pic of it!

Would save you alot of time instead of burning it on to a CD, could just sent it through E-Mail...

Actually, you can do it straight from your keyboard but can not remember which 3 buttons to press...

Command + Shift + 3, or 4 if you want to select a specific area.

Hey racecaller, can I make a suggestion? If you make the pages 1024 pixels wide (inspector, page inspector, layout, content width) you should be able to get your navigation bar to fit all on one line....go a bit wider if you have to, most computers display way wider than that nowadays and 800 wide is web 1.0 old stuff.

When you click on a project title listed in the left panel in iWeb, a window appears that allows you to set the publishing parameters. You want to publish to a 'Local Folder' which you set the 'Location' just below that. For this purpose the URL isn't important unless they want to upload the result.

Now, when you publish that site, it gets written to the folder you indicated. You can burn that folder to a CD or DVD and send it to the employer.

If you have space on your site, you could create a folder there for this project and publish directly to that folder. You'd set up the URL appropriately and then you employer would not have to wait for the CD. Once you publish it, they can see it.

Of course if they already have a site, it may be effectively destroyed when they upload the iWeb version you've created. Caution is recommended in that case.
