I can try;D
Made in Photoshop.
#1 Add the blue background
#2 For the apple I used the apple in the Apple Symbols font. Used the Margee tool to cut out the apple to the shape of the one at Mac Forums. Colored the apple.
#3 Added the text and added an outer glow to the text.
#4 The snowmen were the hardest part.
Three circles placed stacked in snowman fashion. Then I used the brush tool to add the shading and the arms. The mouth I made with the pen tool and stroked it with the brush tool. Then the nose, I drew it of from another snowman I had found. Eyes, used Brush tool again.
#5 Stars were made with the Brush tool using the Crosshatch pattern and screwed around with the brush shape dynamics till it seemed right.
#6 The I added an Apple and an X. Turned the apple using the Transform command. Used the star brush to make some stars on the apple and X to connect with the pen tool. Then I stroked the path I had made with the brush tool set to 3 Pixels. Adjusted the opacity till the path connecting the stars looked right.
#7 Added a falling snow texture I had found.

It took me about 5 minutes to type this.
Took close to 2 hours to make the wallpaper. Most of that time was spend on the snowmen getting them just perfect.:D

Naked snowmen. >_<""" They need hats and scarves. :p

Just curious as to why the snowmen are floating in the night sky though?

Thank you.
I have updated it, now has hats and scarfs, and more importantly the snowmen aren't floating in the sky anymore.
New version can be found at top of post.

Looks a lot more believable now. All you need now is an aurora borealis.

Nice one McYukon. Well done and Merry Christmas... Will be using a little of your festive cheer around here :)

Only needed to look out my back door to see the Southern Aurora.

Sadly have moved so no more :(

Tried that, just didn't seem to fit in for some reason.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Appreciate your feedback.:D

I have solved the mystery of the "floating snowmen". This was not a mistake or oversight. They were simply practicing levitation and got caught. :)

First off, thanks ! That was really nice of you to do for everyone. I really like it. You said you wanted feedback, so here's mine:

I think it would look even nicer (this is just my humble opinion, I'm not a graphic designer) if the apple and the "X" were smaller, and were perhaps mixed into the sky amongst other little things which shimmered. Little things like what you ask ? Not sure. I guess, things related to the OS. I also wonder what it would look like if the Mac Forums logo, were on top or towards the middle.

I'm sure you played around with positioning though, so you know best. Thanks again, I'm using it !
