deleting bookmarks

just recently bought a used macbook and can't erase old bookmarks. went through help and followed there steps but the bookmarks keep comng back.

Only way to do it is to highlight in organize bookmarks and then delete one by one. I wish there was a better way.

To erase all at once, navigate to /Volumes/MacIntosh HD/Users/your user name/Library/Safari/

and delete the "bookmarks.plist" file. Note that deleting this file will remove all bookmarks. To selectively delete individual bookmarks use the method described by the previous post.

That's a great tip. I just added that to my backup. Any idea where Firefox bookmarks reside?
