Blue & White RAM?

I have a 400Mhz Blue & White G3 Powermac and cannot for the life of me get OS X to install properly on it.

It's definitely a Revision 2 logic board, all the memory is PC100 (and perversely when installed in an iMac G3 400 allow OS X to install), and the system works perfectly under OS 9.2.2 and Ubuntu Linux 5.

Any ideas?

Sometimes the installer will choke on something that works normally once X is installed. Try removing some of the memory, installing OS X then reinstall the memory. Also, if you have added 3rd-party hardware like a non-Apple CD drive or a different hard drive you can have problems with the X installer. (In my iMac I had to reinstall the original CD drive to get X to install; once X was in I switched back to the CD-RW and everything works fine.)
