Boot Camp & Time Machine

Your Mac's Specs
Mac Mini 2.26Ghz 8GB RAM
I have Windows XP on a Boot Camp partition and am wondering whether I need to pause Time Machine when rebooting to work on Windows or is it safe to leave TM running in those circumstances?

OS X knows how to turn off Time Machine (along with every other running app) when you shut down.
