My buddies aren't showing up in the buddy list window, and the application won't even let me add any new ones (when I try, they don't show up either). The weird thing is that I tried both the regular AIM client and Adium as well, and had the same problem. For what it's worth, all my other preferences seem to be fine and intact. *** is going on?

Sounds like your contact list got screwed on AIM's side. Try logging into it using a different computer.
