Hi, I've been searching all over for a solution, any help would be appreciated.

I want to share my mbp's wifi connection with my ipod touch. This might sound strange but the reason is that I can connect to my local hotspot with the login procedure and everything on the laptop, but the ipod doesn't even recognise the existence of the network in the first place; it should be unsecured and then require a username and password once connected, but this doesn't happen, the network just won't appear on the ipod.

so, i wanted to try internet sharing, which seems to work fine if you've got an ethernet connection that you want to share over airport, except I don't, i've only got the airport connection to my mbp. is there anyway to recieve wifi and send it out as well, if you see what I mean? I've tried to be as clear as possible but if there's anything that doesn't make sense let me know.

also, I'm running leopard and 3.1.2 on the ipod. if there's no workaround is there any way to sort out the fact that it's not picking up this pretty pervasive, unsecured network?
thanks.

You can't use your AirPort adapter in AdHoc mode, since it's already serving as your WAN connection.
