can I make iMac be monitor like

I'm planing to build a PC and getting a Cinema Display ($899)
but since iMac ($1699) not much more expensive, I want to get iMac instead
I wonder if I can make iMac do like Cinema Display

What does "do like Cinema Display" mean? The iMac's screen is a 16:9 ratio screen. The 21.5" iMac has a 1080P screen while the 27" iMac has a higher resolution..

I think the better question is - why on earth would you want an Apple Cinema Display for a gaming PC? There are much better, and cheaper displays designed for that task.
