Why does my Mac say I'm in a town I'm not?

Hey there,

My mac seems to think I'm in Simpsonville, SC, when in reality I'm in Boone, NC. I know this because when I go to websites, stuff will pop up saying "you may be interested in so-and-so in the Simpsonville area!" or, when I posted a comment on a news story from a local station, it automatically said I was from Simpsonville. Now, it didn't always do this. It used to say I was in the Boone area. What happened... what changed? And how can I change it back?

It may just be looking at the IP address your using and using the general area that the IP from. It's not your Mac that thinks that, it is the website.
