hi,

What is the different among rm and empty recycle bin and secure empty recycle bin?

I am guessing secure empty recycle bin involves empty recycle bin with writing garbage data over and over the chunk of memory that was used so that it is unrecoverable.

What's with rm though? rm is so much quicker of a process as well...

rm simply 'deletes' the file. It does not copy it to the recycle bin. Since this just removes the inode pointer it's fast. Secure empty does indeed overwrite the data location, so it can't be readily reread... you can do that at the bottom line with srm.
