getting faster connection speeds from AirPort Express

Hi MacPeople

I just upgraded my internet connection from 15/3 to a 30/4 Mbit/s.

But I only get a 17/4 connection through my AirPort Express?. If I plug the connection directly from the modem to my iMac instead of the AirPort Express, then I get the the full 30/4 Mbit/s which I have paid for.

Can it really be that you can not get more speed out of a AirPort Express?

My AirPort Express is about two years old

Your Express should theoretically handle the full speed of your connection (802.11G supposedly handles up to 54M/sec).

What else is hooked up to your network? Some routers will default to the fastest speed of the slowest device network wide. Is the express your only router?
