will cheats for a windows game work for a mac game ? if there there the same game ?

The only example I have to go on is the Sims 2, in which all of the cheats for the Windows version are identical. Many Mac games are simply ports from the Windows version which run in a type of virtual machine (Cider), emulating parts of a Windows installation, so little of the code is actually changed and most of the cheats should work the same way.
