Low Quality Streaming

I've been getting my hands in my macbook, and I don't know if something I did caused my hulu videos and other online streaming to look incredibly poor. I added more RAM and changed the hard drive (unsuccessfully, so I changed it back) Is there some settings I need to adjust? Is it something I did?
