Screen Flickering on MacBook

I've had my MacBook for just over a year and now, my screen has started flickering. Colored lines will appear horizontally across my page, and changing the angle of my screen can get rid of them. Unfortunately, I'm out of my warranty period and the Apple store wants to charge me $200 just to open it up. Anybody know an alternative or fix?
